Build Your Own Italian Soda Bar!

You all know I love to throw fun parties! Something I’m famous for is my love of Italian soda and I’m always looking for an opportunity to set up an Italian Soda Bar. I love Italian sodas almost as much as my Italian husband! Italian soda bars are a great addition to any and every party. They are a fabulous conversation piece. Every one of your guests will relish in creating their own special drink because they are so yummy, easy, and fun to make.. I guarantee it to be a hit and nearly everyone will come back for seconds. Some may even attempt to try them all!

What you need to make your own Italian Soda Bar grocery list.

• Torani syrup
• Ice
• Club Soda
• Half and Half
• Whipped Cream
• Maraschino Cherries
• Fresh key lime wedges

• Ice bucket with ice scoop
• Straws for mixing
• Clear drinking cups
• Drink dispenser
• Glass mike dispensers (found in the dollar section of Target)
• Torani pumps (completely worth the money in my opinion)

The Set Up

When setting up your Italian soda bar make sure you have a large enough surface space for your drink display. The best and most efficient way that I have found to organize your bar is by setting up an assembly line.  From left to right start with your cups. If hosting a party for adults, then mason jars are my favorite cups to use. However, clear plastic cups will work just fine. Next, you’ll want to neatly arrange your syrups close by. I found this cute little Galvanized Metal Tray at Hobby Lobby that holds 10 syrups.

Yes, I know 10 syrups is a lot and honestly, that many are not mandatory. I have so many because I love to entertain with these often and I may be guilty of adding syrup to my own personal sodas daily. Ideally, 3 or 4 different flavors for your guests to choose from is perfect. In case you build up more Torani syrups, no worries as they are able to be stored at room temperature and will last anywhere up to a year after opening.

Next, you’ll need an ice bucket with an ice scoop and another bucket to store your half & half and whipped cream chilled on ice. If I’m hosting a party for a large number of people, then I will fill a drink dispenser with plenty of COLD club soda. This just makes things prettier by getting rid of all those ugly soda bottles, but it is completely not necessary and I’ve done it both ways successfully. Lastly, be sure to up your hosting game with the simple addition of a jar filled with cute sipping straws. At the end of the soda bar line place small bowls of maraschino cherries and limes. That cute little touch is literally and figuratively what will be the cherry on top of your soda bar!

Creating your own Italian Sodas is easy! Just follow these simple instructions.

1. Add 2-3 pumps of your favorite syrup.
2. Fill cup 1/2 way with ice.
3. Add a small amount of cream.
4. Fill the cup with club soda.
5. Stir with a straw and top with whipped cream.
6. Place a cherry on top and ENJOY!
